<p>Ignite your cloud database career with cutting-edge automation and PostgreSQL solutions! </p> <p> Senior Cloud Database Consultant position with AWS & Azure focus </p> <p> Work with Cloud Database Services (PostgreSQL) team </p> <p> Flexible working arrangements with cutting-edge cloud technologies</p> <p><b>POSITION:</b> Contract: 01 October 2025 31 December 2028 </p> <p><b>EXPERIENCE:</b> 5+ Years related Experience </p> <p><b>COMMENCEMENT:</b> 01 October 2025 </p> <p><b>LOCATION:</b> Hybrid: Midrand/Menlyn/Rosslyn/Home Office rotation </p> <p><b>TEAM:</b> Cloud Database Services (PostgreSQL)</p> <p><b>Qualifications/Experience</b></p> <ul> <li><b>Educational Background</b>: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field</li> <li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT automation, with at least 3 years focused on cloud technologies</li> <li><b>Certifications (preferred):</b> Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert)</li> <li>Demonstrated expertise in Agile working methods</li> </ul> <p><b>Essential Skills Requirements</b> <b>Must have experience/understanding:</b></p> <ul> <li>Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash</li> <li>Extensive experience infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates)</li> <li>Solid understanding of cloud services and architectures in AWS and Azure</li> <li>Experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)</li> <li>Strong knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security controls in cloud environments</li> <li>Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) concepts and tools</li> <li>Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes)</li> </ul> <p><b>Advantageous Skills Requirements</b></p> <ul> <li>Experience with database management and automation in cloud environments</li> <li>Knowledge of compliance requirements in the automotive industry and South African data protection regulations</li> <li>Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)</li> <li>Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)</li> <li>Understanding of network security concepts and implementation in cloud environments</li> <li>Experience working in a global, multi-cultural team environment</li> <li>Agile development experience (e.g., Scrum)</li> <li>Experience with Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring</li> <li>Familiarity with tools like Confluence and Jira</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail</li> <li>Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment</li> </ul> <p><b>Role Requirements</b></p> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for cloud database services, focusing on integration with Group's existing systems and processes</li> <li>Create and maintain scripts and tools to automate routine tasks, deployments, and configurations across cloud platforms (AWS and Azure)</li> <li>Collaborate with the global security team to implement and automate security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance controls</li> <li>Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for database and application deployments in cloud environments</li> <li>Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates</li> <li>Automate monitoring, alerting, and reporting processes for cloud database services</li> <li>Work with the development teams to integrate automated processes into self-service portals</li> <li>Collaborate with Cloud Database Engineers to automate database management tasks, including provisioning, scaling, and maintenance</li> <li>Develop and maintain documentation for all automation processes and tools</li> <li>Continuously evaluate and implement new automation technologies and methodologies to improve efficiency and reliability</li> <li>Provide guidance and mentorship on automation best practices to other team members in the South African hub and globally</li> <li>Ensure that automation solutions comply with local South African regulations and Group's global standards</li> <li>Take responsibility for delivering high-quality outcomes on time</li> <li>Work as part of a globally distributed team in fast-paced environments</li> </ul> <p><b>NB:</b></p> <ul> <li>South African citizens/residents preferred.
