Introduction

Drive the fabric and product development process to ensure that critical path dates are met and ensure the end product conforms to quality standards (Fit, Fabric, trims, safety, functionality) aligned to business strategy.

Contribute to Product Concept / Product Range workshops / conversations and drive alignment between product aesthetics and technical requirements from idea to product developed.

  • Actively participate as a member of the “Quad” during seasonal plan workshops to define the Formula.

  • Actively participate as a member of the “Quad” during Range Build and In-Season Trade / Trend Update workshops to define Woolworths design requirements.

  • Collect store and customer-related feedback on quality and other technical aspects i.e. product durability.

  • Conduct post seasonals on Supplier and product performance to inform fabric technical aspects of new product ranges.

  • Deliver fabric innovation outcomes to achieve innovation and sustainability targets.

Complete and update Tech Packs in line with Critical Path dates.

  • Complete BOM and Test Requisitions.

  • Ensure that Tech Packs are aligned with the required quality standards.

  • Ensure on-time handover of Tech Packs and participate in Tech Pack briefings where required.

  • Complete Size Chart and Washcare.

Coordinate the request and receipt of Lab Dye / Strike-Off and Bulk samples, and ensure technical assessments are completed in time.

  • Relevant business qualification in Textile Technology and/or Textile production and/or fashion/clothing product management.

  • 5 years or more technical experience in retail and/or manufacturing is essential.

  • Understanding of the International and South African fabric/garment/fit/category industry.

  • Ability to travel both locally and internationally.

  • Product Knowledge.

  • Technical Product Development.

  • Textile Manufacturing Process Knowledge.

  • Technical Pack Development.

  • Time Management.

  • Product and Fabric Quality Control.

  • Advanced PLM Skills.

  • Product technical assessment of samples to ensure product technical requirements are met.

Deliver Product Quality.

  • Monitor product quality and compliance to control processes and guidelines (incl.

    customer, store, Supplier and QIMAOne trends), raise deviations and mitigate issues with Suppliers, Sourcing & Production and Buying and Design Teams.

  • Provide input towards Supplier quality and performance reviews.

PLM Utilisation and Compliance.

  • Ensure PLM is continuously kept up to date with accurate and relevant information at appropriate levels of completion.

  • 5 years or more technical experience in retail and/or manufacturing is essential.

  • Relevant business qualification in Textile Technology and/or Textile production and/or fashion/clothing product management.

  • Understanding of the International and South African fabric/garment/fit/category industry.
