IT Platform and Desktop Support Agent
Location: Remote (must be based in Cape Town, Western Cape)
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract
Start Date: 1 October
Salary Range: R10,000 – R15,000 (depending on experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an IT Platform and Desktop Support Agent to join our team.

This role is focused on providing first-line support to users of the Resilient Health Portal, resolving technical issues, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

You will also assist with desktop support for internal staff when required.

This is an entry-level role, ideal for someone with basic IT support skills, a problem-solving mindset, and strong communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support to Resilient Health Portal users via ticketing system, email, and phone.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve common system issues (e.g., login/access problems, navigation, error messages).

  • Escalate unresolved technical issues to senior IT or development teams.

  • Assist internal staff with basic desktop support
  • Document issues and resolutions to improve knowledge base and support processes.

  • Ensure all support tickets are tracked, updated, and closed within agreed timelines.

  • Provide users with clear guidance and training on basic system functions when required.

  • Support system updates and testing to ensure smooth rollouts.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum: IT support-related certificate (e.g., CompTIA A+ or equivalent).

  • Basic understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and general desktop troubleshooting.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to provide patient, clear, and professional support to non-technical users.

  • Organised and able to manage multiple support requests simultaneously.

  • Previous experience with a helpdesk/ticketing system (advantage but not required).

  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the role.
