Procurement Manager

We are seeking a Procurement Manager to oversee the procurement of equipment purchases for Engineering design phase 1 in our client's state-of-the-art solar PV systems.
This role involves managing supplier relationships, ensuring competitive pricing, and timely delivery while adhering to the company's procurement quality policies.
The ideal candidate will have a strategic approach to procurement, establishing long-term partnerships with trusted suppliers to secure optimal pricing agreements through bulk procurement.
Duties & Responsibilities 
As the Procurement Manager, you will:  
- Play a key role in vetting suppliers and subcontractors alongside the COO, ensuring compliance across all countries in Africa where installations are required.
 
 
- Maintain updated price lists for the Engineering Department to facilitate detailed project costing.
 
 
- Develop project Bill of Quantities (BOQ) in collaboration with the Engineering Department and handover procurement lists to the Project Management Department.
 
 
- Review project budgets and provide signatory approval on behalf of the Engineering Department.
 
 
- Monitor and drive credit applications with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms.
 
 
- Collaborate with key company stakeholders to determine product and service needs, monitoring business trends and product availability to secure the best prices without compromising quality or delivery times.
 
 
- Foster relationships with suppliers, negotiating optimal prices for company goods and services.
 
 
- Research and identify potential new suppliers and products to meet company goals.
 
 
- Assess total costs of company purchases and implement strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing products, including stock and inventory management.
 
 
- Ensure adherence to company ISO 9001 & 45001 Compliances across all branches in Africa.
