Job Description
Data Infrastructure & Integration
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines integrating HR, operational, financial, and performance datasets.
- Develop and optimise ETL/ELT processes to ensure accurate, timely, and reliable data flows.
- Manage integrations between HRIS, ATS, LMS, and other workforce systems into central data warehouses.
- Ensure alignment of data architecture with business needs, including scalability for future growth.
Analytics Solutions & Reporting
- Build onboarding recruitment analytics tools and employee survey applications, ensuring automated collection and reporting of key workforce metrics.
- Design and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reporting frameworks for people analytics, talent management, workforce planning, and wider business initiatives.
- Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for HR, executives, and operational stakeholders.
- Develop predictive and prescriptive analytics models to support workforce planning, attrition risk analysis, and employee engagement strategies.
Innovation & Advanced Analytics
- Build and maintain AI-driven tools to enable advanced analytics, such as natural language processing for employee feedback, churn modelling, and skills forecasting.
- Explore and implement machine learning solutions to uncover hidden workforce trends and opportunities.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where relevant to people analytics.
Governance, Quality & Security
- Define and enforce data quality, governance, and stewardship standards across all HR and people-related datasets.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, protection, and security policies (e.g., POPIA, GDPR).
- Conduct regular audits to identify anomalies, risks, and opportunities for data quality improvements.
Collaboration & Strategic Impact
- Partner closely with the People Analyst, HR leadership, and cross-functional business teams to co-design analytics projects that drive evidence-based interventions.
- Provide subject matter expertise in BI and data architecture to internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to strategic projects by supplying insights that enhance organisational performance, culture, and employee experience.
- Train HR and business users on interpreting dashboards and using analytics tools.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in BI development, data modelling, and ETL/ELT processes.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:
- Strong proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and enterprise data integration tools.
- Proven experience working with HR, payroll, or operational data sources.
- Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
- Track record of delivering end-to-end BI solutions that drive measurable business impact.
- Familiarity with predictive analytics.
- Experience developing HR analytics platforms, workforce planning models, or survey analysis tools.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect technical solutions to organisational outcomes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
